Yahoo! Mail: Unsubscriber App Makes It Easy to Unsubscribe from Unwanted Email

One of the cool things about the brand new Yahoo! Mail is that it puts several apps at your disposal. One app in particular can prove to be quite useful: the new Unsubscriber app from OtherInbox.

Imagine this situation if you will. Over the years, you’ve subscribed to various online publications, websites, services, and so on. Subscribing for a pet grooming site for example may have made sense a few years back when you had a pet, but now you no longer have a pet and you don’t want to get emails from that site anymore. Thanks to the Unsubscriber app you can easily unsubscribe from that site.

Here’s what I mean when I say that you can easily unsubscribe: all you have to do is move an email to a folder. Okay, getting to create that folder isn’t as easy as that, but that’s not to say that it’s complicated. To get to create a folder, you have to click the Unsubscriber app in the lower left hand side. Then you have to click “Create my Unsubscribe Folder”; once you do that a folder called Unsubscribe will show up in the folder list. All you have to do now is drag an email to the Unsubscribe folder. It’s all quite simple if you ask me.

Getting back to the pet grooming site I mentioned above. Once you move an email from that site into the Unsubscribe folder, the Unsubscriber app will do all it can to unsubscribe you from the site’s mailing list. Most of the times, it can safely unsubscribe you. If it can’t safely unsubscribe you, it will make sure that you never have to look at another email from that pet grooming site. It does that by automatically moving emails from the grooming site to the Unsubscribe folder.

Director of Product Management with Yahoo! Mail, Miriam Geller, highly recommends the Unsubscriber app.
