Yahoo! has four apps for Apple Watch: a weather app, a sports fantasy app, a news app, and another news app that’s tailored for Hong Kong.

Yahoo Weather, Yahoo Sports Fantasy, Yahoo News Digest, and Yahoo News Hong Kong – the four Apple Watch apps in question – will be available to the public starting with April 24, 2015.

The Yahoo Weather app for Apple Watch presents information about the weather: the current weather conditions, the weather forecast, what it “feels” like, when the sun rises and sets. Twice a day, the app will bring up weather notifications. In the morning, it will notify you about the day’s weather conditions. And in the evening, it will present the forecast for the coming day.

The Yahoo Sports Fantasy app for Apple Watch presents information about your fantasy team: check your matchups, check your lineup for injuries, view matchup stats. It even lets you use the Apple Watch’s dictation feature to communicate with your league.

The Yahoo News Digest app for Apple Watch presents the most important news stories in the US. It delivers the latest news every hour, on the hour. Glance at the latest headlines, open the news bulletin to see a micro-summary of the news paired with a map, infographic, stock ticker, image or statistic.

Tailor made for users in Hong Kong, the Yahoo News Hong Kong app for Apple watch presents breaking news from Hong Kong, lets you glance at the top 10 headlines of the hour, and presents a sentiment score and animated emoticon that shows how other readers feel about an article. This app is only available in Hong Kong.

“We’re always looking at how users will engage new form factors, and we’ve taken the wrist computer as an opportunity to rethink our product experiences. Design generally loves constraint, so we rebuilt for the simplicity and user expectations of this screen,” said Adam Cahan, Yahoo’s senior vice president of mobile and video. “For the Apple Watch, in particular, we’ve added top of the hour updates from Yahoo News Digest and included micro-summaries with a new speed reading feature, for Yahoo Weather we’ve added “feels like” for an immediate at-a-glance visual update, and with Yahoo Sports Fantasy we’ve included Smack Talk with dictation. We hope you love using them.”
