Great news for parents who want to make sure their children don’t access inappropriate content, don’t make unwanted purchases, and don’t spend too much time on their iPhones or iPads.

Security company Intego recently introduced Family Protector, explaining that it gives parents control of all the iOS mobile devices in their household.

“As every parent can attest, technology is both a blessing and a curse. As mobile devices and apps become more pervasive in our lives, parents can find themselves worrying more about what their children might be exposed. We listened closely to what parents were looking for in a parental control product and believe we found just the right balance between control and flexibility. With Family Protector, parents can easily worry-proof all of their iOS devices and be assured that their children are safe while maintaining a trusting relationship with their children,” said Intego CEO and President, Jeff Erwin.

Intego Family Protector – Main Features
  • Freeze – the iOS device will freeze based on the schedule you set up. You can thus ensure your child doesn’t stay up too late and gets a good night’s sleep for example.
  • Take a break – turn off 3rd party apps, stop web browsing, disable video chat and the camera based on the schedule you set up.
  • No camera, no FaceTime – set up a schedule and make sure your child isn’t using the camera or video chat at night.
  • Call home – disable access to 3rd party apps and web browsing and send a lock screen message telling your kid to call you.
  • Age-appropriate media and apps – limit access to age appropriate music, movies, books and apps
  • Rook – this is Intego's kid safe web browser. It ensures your child will only access age-appropriate web content.
  • Actively block or allow certain websites.
  • KidSet – use the KidSet app on your own device and then hand the device to your child safe in the knowledge that he or she will have access to age-appropriate content only.
  • Notifications – get a notification if your kid tries to access a blocked website or app, reinstall a forbidden app, or removes Family Protector.
