As 2D Boy previously announced, the iPhone version of the award-winning World of Goo game became available for download on the App Store on the 14 of April. Normally priced at $2.99, the app is on sale for the first 24 hours – it costs a mere $0.99.

But if you already have the iPad version of the Game, World of Goo HD, you don’t need to get the iPhone version. On the 14 of April 2D Boy updated World of Goo HD making the app universal. This means that the app no longer works on the iPad alone; it also works on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

“World of Goo HD is now universal so you can play it on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch as soon as you buy/update. World of Goo (non-HD) is playable on iPhone and iPod Touch,” explained 2D Boy, the company founded by former EA Arts developers Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel.

If you don’t have World of Goo HD you can purchase it from the App Store for the low price of $4.99. That means you will pay $4.99 for an app that works on your iPad, your iPhone and even your iPod Touch. Not a bead deal if you ask me. And keep in mind that on the iPad, up to 11 fingers can play the game. You can play one handed, two handed, or with a few friends around you.

I mentioned above that for the first 24 hours the World of Goo for iPhone is on sale for $0.99. That’s not the only thing that went on sale. To celebrate the launch of the iPhone app and the fact that the iPad version is now universal, the adorable Goo Ball beanie hats presented below are on sale. Until April 20th you can get them at half the price.
