I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to tell all of you that an Android version of the award winning physics-game World of Goo is finally going to be available for the Google-developed Android mobile operating system. World of Goo for Android-powered smartphones and Android-powered tablets will be released to the Android Market on Monday, the 28th of November.

Back in October I was reporting that 2D Boy, company founded by former EA Arts developers Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel, announced that an Android version of World of Goo would be released in the near future, once all the bugs are dealt with. At first “the near future” referred to Wednesday, the 23rd of November. But it seems there was an unforeseen problem and the release of World of Goo for Android has been pushed for Monday, the 28th of November. So, just a few more days left until World of Goo is available on Android.

In an amusing blog post 2D Boy said that the delay is to be blamed on a malfunctioning World of Goo Corporation tanker. “While attempting to ship Goo for Android devices yesterday, a World of Goo Corporation tanker malfunctioned, flooding a 40 mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and disabling around 150 vehicles,” said the 2D Boy team, adding that “we deeply regret this inconvenience to our loyal customers who are eagerly and patiently awaiting the arrival of Goo on their Android devices.”

If the news that you won’t get to play World of Goo on your Android-powered smartphone this weekend has got you down, I have something that will put a smile on your face. Samsung released an app for the Android-powered Galaxy S2 in which it pokes fun at Apple fanboys and the iPhone 4S. You can read more about this topic here.
