EA’s announcements were interesting, Bethesda’s reveals were pretty cool, but Sony’s press conference at E3 2016 was simply amazing.

Games, games, games, and more games. Sony presented a long list of exciting new games. Apart from telling us when the PlayStation VR will be released, Sony kept its focus on the games. After all, isn’t that what we care most about?

A precise release date for the PlayStation VR

Until now, we knew that Sony plans to release its virtual reality headset, the PlayStation VR, sometime in October. At E3 2016, Sony gave us a precise release date: October 13, 2016. Before the end of the year, 50 games will be available for the PlayStation VR.

The pricing for the PlayStation VR remains unchanged. $399 for the core headset and $100 for the PlayStation Camera and the two PlayStation Move controllers. Unfortunately, the Playstation VR is no longer available for pre-order at this time.

Crash Bandicoot is coming to Skylands (and getting remastered)

The shirtless, crazy-eyed bandicoot will be a playable character in the PlayStation version of Skylanders Imaginators, game that is scheduled to be released this October.

Furthermore, Sony plans to remaster the original Crash Bandicoot game, the sequel game, Cortex Strikes Back, and the third game, Warped. All three games will get the HD treatment and will be released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. Since Activision holds the rights to Crash Bandicoot, Sony had to set up a special arrangement to remaster the games.

Detroit: Become Human has an intense new trailer

Enjoy the E3 2016 premiere trailer for the upcoming Detroit: Become Human, a neo-noir thriller video game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony. Based on in-game footage, the trailer presents the near-future city of Detroit and it presents a new playable character called Connor – an advanced prototype assigned to police forces to help them investigate cases involving deviants.

"Detroit is about emotions, about dilemmas and making difficult decisions," said Quantic Dream Director, David Cage. "Detroit is not just the story of androids becoming aware of themselves and their fight to be free, it is about a story that resonates at many levels in our world, about being free, about becoming who you are."

This new post-apocalyptic zombie shooter seems fun

Days Gone, developed by Bend Studios and published by Sony, is an upcoming open world action-adventure game – with zombies. The action takes places two years after a devastating global pandemic. You play as Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter who has to survive in the harsh wilderness.

Deacon St. John doesn’t care for the "safe" wilderness encampments. He prefers the open road and the beautiful, volcanic scarred high-desert of the Pacific Northwest. Even if it means having to constantly be on the lookout and having to fight Freakers – mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human.

Days Gone is "about desperation, hope, transformation, loss, madness, discovery, friendship, exploration, brotherhood, regret and love," explained Bend Studios Creative Director, John Garvin. "In the end, Days Gone is about what makes us human. It’s about how even when confronted with such enormous tragedy, we find a reason to live. Hope never dies."

Kratos is back, with a beard... and a son

There will be a new God of War action-adventure game, featuring a fully bearded Kratos, who has a son now. The action takes place many years after the events of God of War III and is set in the world of Norse mythology. Kratos – and his son – must fight and survive in the unforgiving lands of the Norse Gods.

Santa Monica Studio, the developer behind the new God of War, says it wants to create a different, better and truly memorable experience with this new game.

Resident Evil 7 to be released in January 2017

On January 24, 2017, the next major entry in the Resident Evil series will be released. While you wait, check out the Resident Evil 7 Biohazard “Desolation” trailer that was presented at E3.

Check out the new Spider-Man from Insomniac Games

Insomniac Games are working on a PS4-exclusive Spider-Man game that doesn’t have an official title just yet. It does have a trailer though.

"This isn’t the same Spider-Man you’ve met before, nor is our game based on the upcoming movie," said Insomniac Games Creative Director, Bryan Intihar. "This is a more seasoned Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his absurdly chaotic personal life and career. All while nine million New Yorkers depend on him for their safety… no pressure indeed."

You play as a skilled hunter called Aloy, get to explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures, and have to uncover what happened to human civilization and why Earth is no longer ruled by man.

The first in-depth look at Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare gameplay

Say what you will about Infinite Warfare, but this gameplay trailer is amazing. Even if you are among those who say the space warfare angle is too weird, you’ll still enjoy this trailer (I hope).

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is going to be released on November 4, 2016.

Hideo Kojima’s working on a weird new game

Hideo Kojima made a surprise appearance at Sony’s E3 press conference to unveil the weird new game he’s been working on following his departure from Konami. The new game is called Death Stranding and it features Norman Reedus. You know, Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead.

What is this game all about? I don't know. When will it be released? I don’t know that either. I can assume that it isn’t going to be release anytime soon.

If you like horror games, check out Here They Lie

I’m not a big fan of horror games. I like horror movies, but horror games are a bit too much for me . If you don’t feel the same way I do, then allow me to introduce Here They Lie, a dark psychological first-person horror game that takes you to a terrifying world that’s inhabited by strange, malevolent creatures.

Here They Lie will be released for PS4 and PlayStation VR this fall.

Bound has dancing and a stunning fantastical world

In this game, you enter the mind of a woman revisiting the memories of her childhood. It’s a stunningly beautiful world, and you have to traverse it with dance moves.

"You’ll use dance moves to traverse vast environments filled with platforming challenges. As the game progresses, the introspective story unfolds through powerful metaphor and imagery, adding emotional depth to the protagonist’s journey," says Sony.

Gran Turismo Sport, the definitive motor racing experience

Gran Turismo Sport, which promises to be better than ever, is going to be released on November 15, 2016. To get you pumped, Sony has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming game at E3 2016.

Become the Dark Night, by playing as Batman in VR

That’s what virtual reality is for, to let you immerse yourself into a game. And when Batman: Arkham VR comes out, you’ll be able to immerse yourself into the Dark Knight’s universe and experience Gotham City though Batman’s eyes.

Batman: Arkham VR is going to be released this October.

Farpoint lets you explore a hostile alien planet in VR

Farpoint, which is developed by Impulse Gear exclusively for the PlayStation VR, is described as "an unnerving space adventure set on a hostile alien world." You’ve been transported to an unknown alien world and know you have to fight to survive.

You were on a mission to pick up scientists studying an anomaly near Jupiter. But a rupture from the anomaly transported you to an unknown alien world. Now you have to uncover the planet’s secrets and discover what happened to your team.

Chambara reinvents hide and seek

Chambara nicely blends together fighting with hide and seek. The interesting part is that you hide in plain sight.

Chambara is a local multiplayer stealth-game where you have to camouflage yourself against like-colored areas and then ambush your foes. The game is going to be released on July 26, 2016.

And more…

I’m going to stop here, but not before I invite you to watch Sony’s entire PlayStation E3 2016 press conference.
