Windows Update Follows Yahoo! Messenger for Android Update

After releasing an updated version of the Yahoo! Messenger for Android app, Yahoo! has released an updated version of Yahoo! Messenger for Windows as well. The Yahoo! Messenger Team announced the release of the updated version on Tuesday, March 13, and explained that the update brings with it improved stability and enhanced security.

That is not all the updated Yahoo! Messenger for Windows has to offer. On top of better stability and security, the updated version of Yahoo! Messenger for Windows lets you customize the “Recent Contacts” groups.

“In this update, we made general stability improvements and fixed some potential security flaws,” the Yahoo! Messenger Team explained. “By popular demand, we also made it possible to customize your Recent Contacts,” the team added.

In the Recent Contacts group you will find the people you talk most often to. What the Yahoo! Messenger Team means by “you can customize Recent Contacts group now” is that you can set it up so the group is no longer displayed in Yahoo! Messenger’s interface. To do so, to turn off Recent Contacts, just click on Contacts, then select Show/Hide from the dropdown menu, and uncheck Recent Contacts. Do so and Recent Contacts will

I mentioned at the start that the Windows update follows in the footsteps of the Android update. The updated Yahoo! Messenger for Android now lets you share your location with others: you can add your location to status updates. You will see an “Add Location” button in the Status Message view, button you can use to add your location to status updates.
