Microsoft got famous actress Jessica Alba to present Kid's Corner, one of the new features Windows Phone 8 has to offer.

On Monday, October 29, in San Francisco, Microsoft presented the new Windows Phone 8 as well as beautiful new smartphones from Samsung, HTC and Nokia powered by the company’s smartphone operating system. Microsoft touted the fact that Windows Phone 8 offers a truly personal phone experience, connecting you to the people and things that matter most.

“We can’t wait for the world to meet Windows Phone 8, the most personal smartphone there is,” said Terry Myerson, corporate vice president of the Windows Phone Division at Microsoft. “Windows Phone 8 comes on a range of phones that are stunning, colorful and unique.”

Kid’s Corner is one of the new features that Windows Phone 8 has to offer. The feature is meant to provide peace of mind to parents who have a Windows Phone 8-powered device and are worried that their child might misuse it.

They don’t have to worry that the child might delete photos, send out unwanted emails, make unapproved purchases, and other things of the sort. The child gets to play in a “Kid’s Corner”, a specialized place on the phone that lets the young one access nothing else but the apps, games, music, and videos the parent selected.

So what Kid’s Corner does is it lets you choose what the child can access when using your Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone.

The surprise of the Windows Phone 8 presentation was that Microsoft brought out actress Jessica Alba to present the Kid’s Corner feature. If you don’t already know this, let me give you the lowdown: Jessica Alba gave up on her iPhone and decided to use a Nokia Lumia 920 smartphone powered by Windows 8 instead.

"I think it's awesome," Alba said Kid's Corner. "I love that I can curate the space. It's a very clutch feature. Also I don't need to worry about my kid going into my social-media networks, or e-mailing my partners or anything like that."
