Since January 2011 Microsofties can play Angry Birds on their Windows XP or Windows 7-powered computers. It was back in January that Rovio Mobile, the developer of the Angry Birds game, announced that a PC version of the Angry Birds game has been released on the Intel AppUp center.

Come April, Microsofties who also have a Windows Phone 7 mobile device, will be able to play the Angry Birds game on the aforementioned mobile device. Microsoft’s Michael Stroh has announced that the immensely popular Angry Birds game will land in the Marketplace on Wednesday, the 6th of April.

Stroh said that as part of its new spring lineup of games, starting with the 6th of April, Microsoft will bring Angry Birds and 5 other titles to the Marketplace. The 5 other titles are: Doodle Jump, Plants vs Zombies, Hydro Thunder Go, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1, and geoDefense.

I mentioned above that Angry Birds is an immensely popular game. Here are some numbers to back up my claim and to better put things in perspective. Since its launch, the Angry Birds game recorded over 50 million downloads across all platforms (Angry Birds is available for Mac OS X, Windows, Android, iOS, and other platforms). According to Peter Vesterbacka, Mighty Eagle at Rovio Mobile Ltd, Angry Birds players spend 200 million minutes daily playing the game.

200 million minutes sounds impressive when you say it out loud. It’s even more impressive when you realize that 200 million minutes are the equivalent of 3.8 centuries, or to be more precise, the equivalent of 380 years, 6 months, 6 days, 9 hours, and 20 minutes (thanks Wolfram Alpha).

In related news, Microsofties may want to know that Windows 7 Service Pack 1 has been released to the general public and that CCleaner has been updated to support SP1.
