After having released the Beta and the RC1 version, the team behind uTorrent have now announced the release of uTorrent 2.0 RTM (Release to Manufacturing). That’s right, the final, stable version of uTorrent 2.0 has finally been released to the public. The software can be downloaded, free of charge of course, here.

Those of you that played around with the Beta and the RC1, know what uTorrent 2.0 has to offer. The following segment if for those of you that have no idea what’s been changed in version 2.0. Here is what you can expect to get from uTorrent 2.0:

UDP tracker support - With the implementation of UDP tracker support, torrent trackers will be able to support more users. Less processing power required to support users means you can use the same hardware to provide support for more users.

Enhanced uTP – uTorrent is better suited to regulate its bandwidth usage so that it does not impact your internet connection in a negative way. Also uTP is no longer hidden in the Advanced settings.
Back in November, BitTorrent said it believes that since uTorrent can automatically throttle the bandwidth when it detects congestion on the network, then ISPs no longer have to throttle BitTorrent downloads. Read all about it here.

Setup dialog improvements
– The setup dialog is now easier to use. On top of that, the setup dialog comes with a built-in speed test.

New transfer cap
– To track bandwidth usage, a new transfer cap feature has been added. The feature comes with graphs, to show the user his bandwidth usage.

Improved performance
– uTorrent 2.0 is faster than previous versions.

Skins
– this is something that most people forget about. You can personalize uTorrent with a skin. Skins are available for download here. You have to manually add skins to uTorrent 2.0, there is not skins menu option. Also, you should know that after you downloaded and saved the skin to the uTorrent folder, you need to restart uTorrent for the skin to be applied.

Here’s something that hasn’t changed: uTorrent 2.0 serves the Ask.com toolbar. If you do not want the toolbar, make sure to opt-out when installing the BitTorrent client.
