Even though Microsoft said it will let people download Windows 7 Beta 1, Build 7000, until the 10th of February, focus has already moved to a more recent version of the operating system – Build 7025. Besides letting us in on the fact that there will be several Windows 7 versions available once the OS hits the market, Build 7025 of Windows 7 also showed that the OS will feature a quick launch bar, conveniently placed in the toolbar (just like in Windows Vista).

It is possible to enable the quick launch bar in Windows 7 Build 7000, all you have to do is follow the instructions below. It is also possible to give the Send To menu a boost, meaning that you will get new “send to” locations in the aforementioned menu.

Follow these steps to enable the quick launch bar:
- Put your mouse on an empty space in the Windows 7 taskbar -> Right click -> Toolbars –> New Toolbar and type in “%userprofile%AppDataRoamingMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick Launch”.
- When you click on Select Folder the quick launch toolbar will appear. Right click on the taskbar -> Lock the Taskbar -> drag and drop the quick launch toolbar to the location of your choice -> Once again select Lock Taskbar.

The Send To menu in Windows 7, as in previous versions of the Microsoft developed OS, is a pretty simple one, offering a limited number of locations to which you can send your files. One simple trick that you could employ is to right click while pressing the Shift button (just like in Vista). If you would like to add Send To locations of your own, follow these simple steps:
- Type “shell:sendto” in the location bar.
- In the folder, drag the shortcuts to the folders you would like to add in the Send To menu.

There are other tricks and enhancements that you can bring to the Beta version of Windows 7:
- Tweak and optimize it with SetteMaxer 0.5
- Remove the Start Icon from the taskbar.
- Deal with crashing installers and updates.
- Use the new Windows 7 keyboard shortcuts.
- Put back Run in the start menu and disable feedback.
- Activate hidden themes and get new themes.
