Nullsoft rolled out an add-on for the Android version of its Winamp media player, add-on that presents a song’s lyrics and scrolls through the lyrics in time with the song.

Can’t make out what the singer is saying and you don’t want to Google the song’s lyrics? Want to sing along to a song that’s playing on your Android device but you don’t have the lyrics in front of you? There is now an add-on that fixes this problem – Lyrics.

Nullsoft recently released the Lyrics add-on for Winamp for Android, add-on that displays the lyrics on your device’s screen and scrolls them in sync with the song. The add-on knows the lyrics to millions of songs from more than 40,000 artists and 200,000 albums.

The Lyrics add-on is priced at $2.99 and is available in the following countries at the time of writing this: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the United States. Nullsoft said that in the future more countries will be added to the list.

To get Lyrics you must launch Winamp for Android, tap the Store icon from the home screen, then select the add-on from the list in the Winamp Store.
To enable the add-on you must first bring up the overlay menu by taping on the Now Playing screen. Then you must tap the fourth icon from the left. Tap once and the lyrics will be displayed on top of the album art. Tap twice and the album art will be hidden out of sight. Tap three times and Lyrics will turn off.

Additional information on how to use the Lyrics add-on is available on the Winamp blog here.
