Winamp 5.57 with Windows 7 Aero Preview Capabilities

If you want to get an easy to use, properly good media player, then I suggest you get the Nullsoft developed Winamp player. Having it up and ready for use will take but a second if you follow the instructions presented here. Now if you already have Winamp installed, then I would advise you to update to version 5.57. Winamp 5.57 comes with full Windows 7 support for example. This means Winamp takes advantage of Windows 7’s Aero interface to deliver new preview capabilities.

On top of that, Winamp 5.57 comes with new online services that let you use Winamp in new ways. The Winamp team explains: “We have worked with a few partners to launch some Winamp customized Online Services (web apps). These new services offer one click access to tour listings, tickets, music downloads and lyrics. Thanks to our partners Tour Tracker, Metrolyrics and 7digital, as you are listening to individual tracks, Winamp will automatically display concert tickets, lyrics and download information. Last but not least there is a new version of MP3 of the Day from Spinner, customized for Winamp.”

But wait, this is not all that Winamp 5.57 brings to the table. Here are some other highlights:
- From within Winamp, you can check out and install skins, plug-ins, visualizations and online services.
- Sign in with your Winamp, AOL, Google, Yahoo, Facebook or OpenID account and keep track of your music usage.
- Charts comes with improved track matching, My History in real-time, All Time Top Charts and updated date ranges for filtering.
- New Orgler Module that lets you broadcast your listening history to your blog, personal website or even as an email signature.
- Redesigned Podcast Directory interface.

You are also advised to update to Winamp 5.57 because the update plugs a few critical security vulnerabilities, that if exploited by someone with malicious intent, could compromise the user’s system.

If you would like to get Winamp 5.57, a download location is available
