McAfee made the news earlier today because its Identity Theft Expert Robert Siciliano shared a few tips on how to stay safe when shopping online. Siciliano shared tips like be suspicious of any offer that seems too good to be true, use an encrypted HTTPS connection, and don’t click links included in emails. You can read more about the tips Siciliano shared with the public here.

Siciliano also recommended online shoppers give the McAfee SECURE Shopping Portal a try as it is home to thousands of trusted sites that passed McAfee SECURE service daily checks for identity theft, credit fraud, online scams, spam, and adware. You will find anything from clothing to electronics on the portal.

And by mentioning the McAfee SECURE Shopping Portal we get to the real topic of this article. Get three of your friends to visit the McAfee SECURE Shopping Portal and you could win an iPad 2 (estimated retail value $699).

When you visit the McAfee SECURE Portal (click here) you will be presented with a prompt that asks you to invite a few of your friends to try the portal out; in exchange you are given the chance to win an iPad2. For every 3 friends who visit the portal and verify your email address, you get 1 entry into the iPad 2 sweepstakes. Please note that there is a 99 entries per person limit. You should also note that all entries must be submitted by July 3rd at 11:59PM ET.

If you want the chance to win an iPad 2 but don’t want to bother with all the invite your friends part presented above, there is another way to take part in the McAfee-organized sweepstakes. You can mail a postcard, including your name and complete address, to: McAfee SECURE Shopping - iPad 2 Sweepstakes, c/o Response Marketing, 100 Crown Street, New Haven, CT 06510. If you want to send more than one postcard, each must be mailed separately. The postcards must be postmarked between Monday, May 3rd, and Sunday July 3rd, and received by Friday, July 22nd.
