Microsoft has recently released Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit (MAP) 4.0 Beta to customers and partners as a means to quickly identify what servers, workstations, and network devices are in their IT environment and thus better prepare to upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. To make it a bit more enticing for all you software testers out there to put MAP 4.0 Beta to the test, Microsoft is offering a Zune Media Player to the tester that files the best bug.Senior Product Manager with Microsoft Solution Accelerators, Baldwin Ng, explains: “To express our thanks for your beta program participation, we will offer a Zune 120GB music player to one beta participant. The criteria are simple. At the end of the Beta Program, the development team will select the most impactful code-specific bugs for the RTM release. The filer of this bug will be the winner.”
According to Baldwin Ng, it is the quality of the bug that matters; it does not matter how many bugs you file in, the sheer volume of bugs will not be taken into consideration (nor will typos and grammatical errors). What will be taken into consideration is the quality of the bug. Please note that all bugs must be filed June 30th, 2009 (5:00 AM Pacific Time) via Connect.microsoft.com. Also note that the contest is open only to Microsoft customers and partners.
As a little recap, here are some features Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit (MAP) 4.0 has to offer: Windows 7 Hardware and Device Compatibility Assessment
