Win a Copy of Dead Island in Opera's Challenge
First up, the introduction, just to make sure that everyone is on board. Developed by Techland, published by Deep Silver, and distributed by Square Enix, Dead Island is a first person horror action-adventure video game for Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360. The aim in the game is to survive on a zombie-infested island. You have to use all sorts of weapons and vehicles to battle the zombies and stay alive. Up to four players can cooperatively play the game. That’s pretty much the short description of the game. If you want to learn more, visit the game’s official site here.
With the introduction out of the way, here’s the news: Opera Software, the Norwegian software developer behind the Opera web browser, is giving you the change to win a copy of the abovementioned Dead Island game. Today, September 6, the day the Dead Island game is released in North America, Opera Software announced the Opera Mini Challenge. It goes something like this:
Imagine you’re on vacation, enjoying some time off on a beautiful tropical island in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to Opera Mini you can surf the web and post updates and photos about your vacation, even though the internet connection is pretty lousy. You vacation is spoiled by a zombie outbreak – but not to worry, you’re prepared for this. The problem is that now that zombies are roaming everywhere, eventually the power will go out and you will lose your internet connection.
Opera Software asks you to think of five websites you would save with Opera Mini, should the internet go down on the zombie infested island. Once you have your top five sites, you can post a comment on my.opera, or you can blog about it and post the link to the blog on my.opera. Three winners will be picked from all the submissions; the winners will be announced this Friday, September 9, 12:00 UTC/GMT.
