If you like to take part in contests and have the chance to win things for free, then you need to know about this one: Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has partnered up with Under30CEO.com blogger Jared O’Toole to run a Young Entrepreneur contest. Take part in the contest, which is open to students and recent graduates, and you have the chance to win one of four new Windows 7 Professional PCs.

Additional info on the prizes, complete with pictures and approximate retail value (ARV) is available at the bottom of this article. Let’s focus on the competition first, and on the prizes later. Here are the main details you need to know about the Young Entrepreneur contest.

To take part in Microsoft’s skill-based Young Entrepreneur contest, you have to come up with a video that focuses on your big entrepreneurial idea. In the video you must detail your entrepreneurial idea, detail how a Windows 7-powered PC helps you accomplish your entrepreneurial idea or how a Windows 7-powered PC helps you become a business entrepreneur, and you must explain why you should win the competition.

The video you come up with must not be longer than 2 minutes and will be uploaded to YouTube. Visit Under30CEO.com and follow the instructions to register for the competition and submit your video. If you’re interested, you have until September 22, 11:55PM PT to submit your video. To enter the competition you must be a legal US resident and you must be between 18 and 30 years old.

The complete rules of the competition are available here and here.

I mentioned above that by taking part in the competition you could win one of four new Windows 7 Professional PCs. Here are few more details on the prizes:

Grand Prize – Sony VAIO SA worth $2,200 (ARV)

Second Prize – Lenovo ThinkPad X1 worth $1,870 (ARV)
