2. Avira System Speedup

3. Avira Phantom VPN

Back in March, Avira rolled out Phantom VPN for Windows and Android. Then in March, it made it available for iOS and Mac as well, citing the fact that security and privacy are for everyone, no matter what operating system they have.

"With Phantom VPN, security is what matters, with operating systems becoming immaterial," said Melanie Weber, head of the VPN project at Avira. "We believe that people should be able to secure their activities and their privacy, regardless of the device or its operating system."

Speaking about security and privacy, here are main reasons why you would want to use Avira’s Phantom VPN:
  • Protect your privacy – block online trackers and prevent the collection of personal data. What you do online is your business and your business alone, so keep your online activities private.
  • Keep snoopers and cybercriminals at bay – surf the web on a connection that encrypts all communications between the internet and your computer or mobile. This prevents eavesdroppers from listening in on private communications and stops cybercriminals from capturing your data.
  • Access blocked websites by hiding your IP – by detecting your IP address, websites can tell where you’re from and they can block you if you’re not from a certain region or country. Avira Phantom VPN hides your real IP, spoofing your location, and thus allowing you to bypass this form of online censorship.
Avira Phantom VPN is part of Avira Free Security Suite, the most comprehensive security product ever released for free.

"At Avira, we build software that empowers users to manage, secure and improve their digital life. With the new Free Security Suite, everyone will get the world class security they expect from us along with the tools they need to protect their identity, their privacy and keep devices running smoothly," said Avira CEO Travis Witteveen.

Avira Phantom VPN offers 500MB of traffic per month for free. If you take the time to register for an account, Avira will double the amount of free traffic, giving you 1GB per month. If you still need more, you’ll have to get the paid Avira Phantom Pro, which offers unlimited data for $9.99 per month.

4. Avira Vault

Avira Vault gives iOS users a safe means of storing their data: a secure digital vault that can be used to safely store photos, videos, credit card details, private notes, and passwords.

Avira Vault is offered for free on Apple’s App Store, with the option to upgrade to the paid Pro version. Here are the extras you get by upgrading:
  • Unlimited storage space – the Free version is limited to 30 files.
  • Unlimited credit cards and passwords – the Free version is limited to 1 credit card and 3 passwords.
  • Encryption of backed up data.
  • Decoy account.
  • Login with PIN, pattern or touch ID.
"In today’s hyper-open world, people need a private corner on their smartphones that combines privacy and security with real convenience. That’s why we’ve developed the Avira Vault for iOS. Avira Vault lets you share what you want to share, browse where you want to browse, and keep the rest – pictures, passwords, financial information, and browsing history – hidden from prying eyes," Avira explained in a press release.
