The most exciting things in tech right now, as far as I see it, are virtual reality headsets and self-driving cars. While the wait for VR headsets is over, the wait for self-driving cars to hit the market continues.

Some VR headsets, like Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear VR, are already available for purchase. Devices such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, will be released to the market later this year, on March 28 and April 5, 2016 respectively.

Self-driving cars, unlike virtual reality headsets, aren’t ready for mass consumption, not yet anyway. Here are the main reasons why you’re stuck waiting for them to hit the market.
