Which Star Wars Character Are You? Find Out with Spotify!

While Disney’s partnership with Google resulted in the release of the amazing Lightsaber Escape game, Disney’s partnership with Spotify resulted in the release of a fun web app called Star Wars Match.

If you have a Spotify account, Star Wars Match will analyze your listening habits and then tell you which Star Wars character best matches your musical tastes. That includes Star Wars characters "from the past, present and future" as the Spotify Team explained, and no Jar Jar Binks. There's no Jar Jar match and no Jar Jar playlist. And I don't mind one bit.

If you don’t have a Spotify account, you can use Star Wars Match as a guest to find out who your match is. The whole thing goes something like this.

Step 1 – Visit the Spotify Star Wars website

Click this link to visit the Spotify Star Wars website. Once you’re on the website, click on “Continue As Guest”. It’s in the lower right hand side.

Step 2 – Guide Your Alignment

Star Wars Match will want to “guide your alignment.” Since you’re not logged in, the app needs to know what sort of music you like. Which means that “guiding your alignment” is fancy talk for “can you tell use what sort of music you like?” Click "Let’s Go" to start doing just that.

If you see a musician or band you like, just click it to select it. If there’s nothing you like, click More to refresh the list.

You have to a pick a total of 5 artists. Once you’re done picking your favorites, Star Wars Match will tell you which Star Wars character you are. But before it does that, it shows you a fun light speed visual effect.

Step 3 – Tell others about your match

My Star Wars match is Darth Vader. I’m way pleased with that and I want to let others know about it. By clicking on the Share Card button, I can easily spread the word across Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. And by clicking on the Listen button I can listen to a curated list created with Darth Vader in mind (but only after I sign into Spotify).
