Great news for all of you out there who have a Yahoo! Mail account and access it from your iPad. Yahoo! has recently announced that it launched an iPad optimized version of Yahoo! Mail. This is a HTML5 iPad friendly version of Yahoo!’s mobile webmail; it is fast, smart and feature rich.

Fast
To provide fast access to all your messages, Yahoo! Mail caches some of the content. This means you can go through your mail a lot faster; it also means you can access your mail even when your iPad is no longer connected to the internet.

Smart
“You can find and organize your messages using Full Search, personal folders and Smart Folders with messages from your most important contacts and optimized views for photos and file attachments,” explained Product Manager with Yahoo! Mail, Lee Parry.

Feature rich
Rich photo attachments can be viewed as previews in the inbox view, or in their full form.
To read and organize your mail as easily as possible, Yahoo! Mail offers iPad users a dual-pane view.

To get started with the new Yahoo! Mail you do not have to download or install anything on your iPad. All you have to do is open the iPad’s Safari browser and head over to mail.yahoo.com.

“The new Yahoo! Mail experience is available globally to anyone who has an iPad. Of course this is just the first version, and we be constantly iterating to add new features, improve performance, and make Yahoo! Mail for iPad the best it can possibly be,” added Parry.

Did you know that Yahoo! Mail is quite good at fighting spam? A while ago Yahoo! announced that is email service fights spam harder, smarter and better than any similar service out there, including Hotmail and Gmail. Yahoo!’s announcement came after research performed by the Fraunhofer Institute, an independent research firm, showed that Yahoo! Mail users received 40% less spam than Hotmail users and 55% less spam than Gmail users.
