What to Expect from VirusBarrier Server 3

Intego, company that specializes in providing security solutions for Macs, has recently rolled out VirusBarrier Server 3, the security software solution that provides malware protection to Mac that run as servers. Beside malware protection, VirusBarrier Server 3 also provides advanced protection from network threats.

  • Remote GUI administration – allows admins to manage the program remotely.
  • Two-way firewall – that offers preset configurations for basic situations and customizable, rule-based settings for advanced users.
  • Antivandal – feature that protects servers from intrusions and network attacks.
  • Detects new types of malware – like for example scareware (or fake antivirus applications), spyware, hacking tools, dialers, proof-of-concept malware, and more.
  • Email server protection – by integrating with the Mac OS X Server’s e-mail server, it can scan nicoming and outgoing emails for malicious attachments
  • Scanning and security options – the user can decide what and when it is scanned; the use can decide what types of threats VirusBarrier Server 3 should look for.
  • Performance control – the user can select a level of CPU time to be allocated to background scans.
  • Updates – apply virus definition and threat filter updates without having to restart the server. Or you can instruct VirusBarrier Server 3 to look for updates in a local folder.
  • 64-bit support – all of Intego’s software applications provide 64-bit support and are fully compatible with the nsow Leopard.
