What are Phishing Attacks and How Can You Protect Yourself? (Infographic)

The cyber-landscape is cluttered with all sorts of threats: worms, Trojans, viruses, adware, spyware, malware and, let’s not forget, phishing attacks.

Phishing attacks aren’t new and you might be tempted to think that they’re not used anymore because everyone knows about them. Sadly though, that isn’t the case. According to the 2016 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 58% of incidents involving compromised user credentials utilized phishing attacks.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), an initiative created to empower everyone online to be safer, more secure and better able to protect their personal information. In honor of NCSAM, data protection company Digital Guardian published an infographic that focuses on phishing attacks, explaining what these types of attacks are and how to spot them.
