What Can You Get for $5 or Less? These 3 Surprising Items!

There’s not a lot you can get for a mere five dollars. A cup of coffee, some fresh orange juice, perhaps a sandwich.

Five dollars isn’t a lot of money. So it may come as a surprise to find out that it’s more than enough for these three items.

1. No more uTorrent ads for a whole year

Ads are annoying, no matter where you see them – on billboards, in your browser, in your torrent client. If your torrent client of choice is the immensely popular uTorrent, I have some good news for you: you can get rid of all the ads for less than $5.

Earlier this month, the uTorrent team introduced an ad-free version that’s priced at a mere $4.95/year. Upgrade to uTorrent Ad-Free and you won’t see any ads for a whole year.

“For our latest development, we’re happy to introduce Ad-Free uTorrent for $4.95 USD annual subscription,” said Jordy Berson, the VP of Product Management for uTorrent. This gives users the option of avoiding any and all ads in the client. It’s exciting to us because it gives users the ability to avoid advertising at 25% of the cost that it used to be – about 5 dollars a year instead of 20 dollars,”.

Speaking about $20, that’s how much uTorrent Pro costs. It gets rid of ads, just like uTorrent Ad-free, and it comes with a few other handy extras. See below.

I have to point out that there’s a way to manually remove ads from uTorrent for free. Check it out among other useful tricks to effortlessly tweak uTorrent.

2. 1Password for a family of 5

AgileBits, maker of the popular password manager 1Password, recently introduced 1Password for Families.

Priced at $5/month, with the first month free, 1Password for Families has the following to offer:
  • Can be used by up to 5 family members.
  • Unlimited passwords, credit cards, secure notes, and more.
  • 1GB of secure storage for your documents.
  • All the 1Password apps for iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows.
“Families are near and dear to our hearts, so we wanted to find a way to make 1Password affordable and accessible for all families everywhere,” said Agile Bits founder Dave Teare on Tuesday. “Today, I’m happy to announce that we succeeded! We’ve created a special plan with an amazing price just for families, and we went even further by making it easier than ever for families to use 1Password."

Go sign up for 1Password for Families before March 21, 2016 and you’ll get an early-adopter bonus:
  • $10 will be added to your account so you can enjoy the service for free for an extra 2 months.
  • 2GB of secure storage instead of 1GB.
  • Invite 2 more family members for free (so 7 family members in total).

3. The Freedom 251 Android smartphone

It’s called the Freedom 251 because it’s priced at Rs. 251. That’s 251 Indian rupees, which amounts to $3.6. What do you get for less than $4? Here are the phone’s main specs.
