Weekend Offer from Skype: Free WiFi Access
Alongside call transfer, a new call quality indicator, a better first run experience and HD-ready, Skype Access is one of the features to be found in the latest Windows version of Skype, mainly Skype 4.2. With Skype Access you can pay for the minute for WiFi access. With a single mouse click you can use your Skype Credit and go online to send an email message or make a Skype call. You no longer have to go searching for your credit card and fiddle with login details to access a WiFi network.
Skype is celebrating the “full launch of Skype Access” and is offering all Skype users, all over the world, free WiFi access. During this weekend, 20th and 21st of March, Skype will let you access its 100,000+ hotspots all over the world for no charge whatsoever.
“When you’re on the move and need to check your email or get access to the web, Skype Access is the easy and great value way to connect. It’s hassle-free, and you only pay per minute for what you use – no more paying for an hour’s access if you’re only online for 20 minutes. From 0000 GMT on Saturday 20 March 2010 to 2359 GMT on Sunday 21 March 2010, Skype Access will be completely free to use from anywhere in the world. All you need is a connection to a Skype Access compatible hotspot and the latest version of Skype for Windows or Skype for Mac,” explained Skype’s Peter Parkes.
The latest versions of the popular instant messaging and VoIP client are Skype 4.2 for Windows and Skype 2.8 for Mac.
British Skype users can take advantage of this offer for more than just a weekend; for Skype users in the UK, the offer is extended through Monday, the 22nd of March. This is because a 3-day strike of British Airways flight attendants may disrupt the traveling plans of many; out of them all, Skype users can take advantage of the current offer and contact their relatives and friends using Skype Access.
“If you get stuck in a UK airport with a compatible hotspot, you’ll be able to stay online for free to work, adjust your holiday booking or better still, make a free video call back home to your family with Skype” added Parkes.
If you would like to download Skype 4.2 for Windows, you can get it here.
If you would like to download Skype 2.8 for Mac, you can get it here.
