WeFi, the software application for Windows-powered machines that aids users in seamlessly finding free Wi-Fi hotspots, has been ported to the Google developed Android operating system. The WeFi for Android app, which you can get now free of charge, will perform a simple but incredibly useful task: connect your smartphone to a properly strong, free Wi-Fi hotspot, which to my mind is incredibly valuable for people that are constantly on the go.

Chief Executive Office (CEO) of WeFi, Zur Feldman, comments: “The launch of WeFi on Android demonstrates our commitment to creating a truly seamless Wi-Fi experience. hanks to WeFi, the growing number of Android users around the world can now forget about a long and complicated manual search for a Wi-Fi hotspot, and benefit from a simple one-step process to launch any application, wherever they are.”

Until now there were only three software products in the WeFi line: WeFi Mobile which is meant to work with Windows Mobile powered smartphones; WeFi Laptop which is meant to work with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X powered devices and will aid users to seamlessly connect to the web and with friends; WeFi Web, which pinpoints locations on the map where free Wi-Fi spots are available as well as places where people are connected to the web by means of free Wi-Fi.

“WeFi is software loaded onto your laptop or mobile device. It automatically detects and qualifies all Wi-Fi access points within range and connects you to the spot with the best Internet connection. If the WeFi software detects a new access point, it allows you to be the first to map it. WeFi also provides you with Instant-Messaging tools, allowing you to create a buddy list, and to see where your friends are currently connected,” explained WeFi.

If you would like to get WeFi for Android, a download location is available here.
