Back in February, Bethesda announced that it lined up 3 add-ons for Fallout 4, its award-winning open-world action role-playing video game that’s set in a post-apocalyptic Boston.

Automatron, the very first Fallout 4 add-on, would be released in March, with the other two add-ons, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor, scheduled to be released in April and May respectively.

Automatron introduces the mysterious Mechanist and the option to build your own custom robot

A horde of evil robots has been unleashed into the Commonwealth, and it’s up to you to hunt them down and destroy them. That is, in a nutshell, the story behind the Automatron add-on.

The cool thing is that you can harvest parts from the robots you destroy, and use these parts to build your own custom robot. “Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons such as the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!” Bethesda explained.

Automatron release date and official trailer

Automatron will be released on March 22, 2016. It will be available for download across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

This is the official trailer Bethesda released to get us excited about Automatron.

Unless you purchased a Season Pass, the Automatron add-on is going to cost you $9.99.

Hopefully you purchased a Season Pass before March 1, when Bethesda hiked the price from $29.99 to $49.99. A Season Pass provides free access to all Fallout 4 content, and Bethesda plans to release more than $60 worth of new Fallout adventures and features throughout 2016.
