At the weekend-long QuakeCon festival, Bethesda dropped the very first gameplay reveals for two exciting new games: Prey and Quake Champions.
The new Prey game is currently in development at Arkane Studios and is scheduled to be released in 2017. According to Bethesda, Arkane Sudios have reimagined the franchise from the ground up and added a psychological twist.
In the new Prey game, you play as Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. It’s 2032 and you’re aboard the Talos space station, which has been taken over by a mysterious alien force. You’ll have to use your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities to combat the alien force and uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station.
According to Raphael Colantonio, president of Arkane Studios and creative director of Prey, the game "is not a sequel, it’s not a remake, it has no tie with the original." So what is it then?
Bethesda and id Software did a proper job of bringing back the iconic Doom shooter. And now that Doom has been so well received, they’re working on bringing back another iconic shooter – Quake.
At E3 2016, Bethesda presented the first reveal trailer for the upcoming Quake Champions.
And at QuakeCon 2016, Bethesda unveiled the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Quake Champions.
