Finnish computer game developer Rovio has a very nice Valentine’s Day surprise for all the Angry Birds fans out there who are on the popular social networking site Facebook. The news is that today, the 14th of February 2012, a special Angry Birds edition has been launched on Facebook. Or to put it in other words, Angry Birds for Facebook is now available for your gaming pleasure.

Angry Birds on Facebook blends together the best of both worlds. What I mean to say is that it features the classic Angry Birds gameplay that is so popular, that it comes with social components (compete against friends, boast about your high score), and that it features brand new power-ups, and Facebook-exclusive levels. There are 14 free power-ups available; you can claim them by playing Angry Birds on Facebook before the 16th of February.

“In addition to the Mighty Eagle, we have great new power-ups to help you pop even the peskiest piggy. In Angry Birds Facebook, you have the opportunity to earn power-ups by playing the game, receiving them as a “mystery gift” from a friend, or purchasing them,” explained Rovio.

Here are four of the 14 free power-ups Angry Birds for Facebook has to offer: Sling Slope (laser targeting for pinpoint precision and the perfect shot), King Sling (the powerful King Sling provides maximum power and velocity), Super Seeds (turn any bird into a pig-popping giant by supersizing it), and Birdquake (bring the pigs’ defenses crashing to the ground).

If Angry Birds for Facebook sounds like fun, do not waste any more time. Start playing the game by clicking this link. Keep in mind that you have until February 16th to claim the 14 free power-ups the game has to offer.
