When Ubuntu 8.10, codename Intrepid Ibex was rolled out to the masses of awaiting Linux fans, the Ubuntu 8.10 Muslim Edition followed shortly after. Now that Ubuntu 9.04, codename Jaunty Jackalope, has been made available for download, the Muslim Edition of the operating system has been made available for download as well – the catch is that it is not called Ubuntu 9.04 Muslim Edition, it has been re-branded as Sabily 9.04.

“The Sabily team is proud to announce the release of Sabily 9.04, codename "Taibah". Sabily is the new name of Ubuntu Muslim Edition, the Operating System designed by and for Muslims (but non-Muslims are very welcome to use it too). Sabily 9.04 is available as a Live DVD (so you can test it without installing anything on your computer), with 3 versions. A CD (184 MB) containing the Sabily packages is also available if you want to convert a standard Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) installation to Sabily,” explained the Sabily Team.
