If you’re a fan of first-person shooters and you’re not afraid of Betas, then I have some good news. You can play (cough – Beta test – cough) the new Doom this weekend.

If you don’t like Betas, and I can certainly understand why, then there’s another first-person shooter you can play for free: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The game is free until Sunday at 1PM PDT, and it’s discounted as well.

Doom open Beta kicks off today

Id Software and Bethesda Softworks are rebooting the Doom series, with a clear goal in mind: to offer “a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience.”

If you missed the closed Doom multiplayer Beta, I feel for you. But you’re in luck, because Bethesda is doing an open Beta from April 15 through April 17, available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Download the Beta and you’ll have access to two game modes and two maps: Team Deathmatch and Warpath, on the Heatwave and Infernal maps. The video below should give you an idea of what to expect from the Doom Beta.

Doom is scheduled to be released on May 13, 2016, with the first DLC coming sometime this summer. The DLC will introduce new maps, a new weapon and armor, a new playable demon, and more. Getting the DLC will set you back $14.99. But if you get a $39.99 Season Pass, Bethesda will give you this and all other DLCs for free.

Rainbow Six Siege is on sale and free to play

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siece has been around for a while, since December 1st 2015 to be more precise. If you didn’t get it at launch, then you’ll be glad you waited. Why? Because you can get it for a significant discount, that's why.

Rainbow Six Siege is on sale on Steam: 33% off the standard version and 40% off the gold edition. But you need to act fast, because the offer is available until Monday, April 18, at 10AM PDT.

Not sure if you should get the game or not? Why don’t you give it a try first! Rainbow Six Siege is free to play until Sunday at 1PM PDT, on both Steam and Uplay.
