Earlier this week the Linux Foundation announced that there will be a Twitter keynote at LinuxCon North America. And more to the point, the nonprofit organization dedicated to the growth of Linux announced that Twitter’s Open Source Manager Chris Aniszczyk will be among the keynoters of LinuxCon North America where he will present “The Open Source Technology Behind a Tweet.”

Other early confirmations for keynote speakers include President of Qualcomm’s Innovation Center Rob Chandhok, and former HP executive and author Phil McKinney. Rob Chandhok will focus on how Linux is fueling the mobile industry through collaboration while Phil McKinney, author of “Beyond the Obvious: Killer Questions That Spark Game-Changing Innovation,” will focus on the nature of innovation in a collaboration economy.

LinuxCon North America will take place at the Sheraton in San Diego, California, from the 29th until the 31st of August, 2012. The leading annual technical conference will give the Linux community a much needed collaboration and education space. This year the Linux Kernel Summit and the Linux Plumbers Conference will be co-located with LinuxCon North America. Developers, corporate users, IT pros, business execs, system admins, students, and anyone interested in Linux is invited to attend and have the chance to meet the leaders of the Linux community.

As usual, Jim Zemlin, executive director at The Linux Foundation, will give his annual State of Linux at LinuxCon North America. Here’s what he had to say about the conference:

“Clear your calendars for the last week of August, because the global Linux and open source community will be taking over the city of San Diego. The number of co-located events and caliber of keynote speakers at this year’s LinuxCon North America is unprecedented, and we’re looking forward to what we can advance at this year’s events. We hope that by bringing together an even wider variety of open source projects and companies, we can maximize everyone’s investment in their conference schedules this year.”
