Popular social networking and micro-blogging service Twitter is a great way of sharing your thoughts with a large community. But what about those who are not on Twitter just yet? As I’m sure you already know, you can easily share interesting tweets with your followers. But what if you come across an interesting tweet and you want to share it with someone who isn’t on Twitter yet?

This is a situation that does not makes it difficult to share tweets – and Twitter is all about making it easy to share information. The company tackled this issue by introducing the option to send emails to family members, friends, or colleagues who are not on Twitter. Stefan Filip, Engineer on the Growth Team, explains:

“We’re introducing the ability to email a Tweet directly from twitter.com –– a feature that will be rolling out to everyone over the coming weeks. You can email a Tweet to anyone, whether they use Twitter or not, right from your Twitter stream or from the details view of any Tweet. Just click on the “More” icon next to the reply, retweet and favorite buttons in order to email a Tweet to anyone you know. You can add your own comment, and we’ll send an email with your comment and the Tweet together. Just like that.”

In related news, the Twitter team also announced that the Twitter search experience has been enhanced; it now comes with these three new elements:
  • The most relevant photos and videos are displayed above the stream of tweets when you perform a search.
  • See media instantly in your search results stream on iPhone and Android
  • See context like who favorited or retweeted right there in the Tweet.

Just like the option to share tweets via email, the enhanced search experience is available on twitter.com.
