Popular social networking and micro-blogging site Twitter has now officially confirmed the fact that it will make 4 new premium accounts available to users: Sparrow, Dove, Owl and Eagle are the names of the aforementioned accounts. In related Twitter news, it seems that Twitter may become a mandatory discipline to be taught in primary schools across the United Kingdom.

Starting with the new Twitter accounts, it must be said that rumors about this option have been going around for some time now. Speculation over these premium accounts has now come to an end as Twitter has officially confirmed them. According to Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, these new accounts will become available in the near future – a specific date has not been disclosed.

As mentioned above, the 4 new premium accounts are all named after birds, but what exactly do they have to offer? Here is a detailed look:
- Sparrow account costs $5 per month and gives you a 145 character limit. You also get 5 extra random followers.
- Dove account costs $15 per month and gives you a 160 character limit. You also get 25 extra random followers, 1 random celebrity follower, auto-spell check and a “Fail Whale”t-shirt.
- Owl account costs $50 per month and gives you a 250 character limit. You also get 100 extra random followers, 2 random celebrity followers, 30 minutes on recommended list, auto-spell check and a “Fail Whale” hoodie.
- Eagle account, which we don’t know how much will cost, gives you a 500 character limit, 1000 extra random followers, 3 celebrity followers that you get to pick, 5 hours on recommended list each month, Twitter Concierge, auto-spell check, a “Fail Whale” tuxedo, and a custom “Fail Whale” page.

In related Twitter news, it has come to light that the British Government is proposing that Twitter, alongside other computer skills, be taught in primary schools across the country. Alongside Twitter usage, children are to be taught how to properly use a keyboard and how to use the spell-check feature. They will be taught how to use Wikipedia as well.
