The interface has a vintage feel, it is incredibly easy to activate TunnelBear, there are cool bear graphics, you get up to 1.5GB for free, and you can surf the web anonymously and privately.
Those are the main things I liked about TunnelBear, a very nice VPN service that is available for multiple platforms.
TunnelBear – What It Does
Tunnel Bear encrypts your web traffic, thus allowing you to surf the web anonymously, access blocked sites, and block website trackers that monitor what you do online.
From a dropdown menu you can pick one of several countries: US, UK, Canada, Germany, and Japan. Choose US for example and turn on TunnelBear. Now, when you visit a website, you will fool it into thinking you’re from the US.
Activating TunnelBear is an incredibly simple matter. From the vintage looking interface just click the On/Off button. A sound that I liked quite a lot will be played in the background when you turn the application on and off.
TunnelBear – Availability, Pricing
TunnelBear is available for desktop machines and for mobile devices. You can use it on a Windows and on an OS X-powered desktop machine. Support is provided for Windows XP SP3 through 8.1 and for OS X 10.6.8 or later. You can also use TunnelBear on your iPhone/iPad and on your Android. You will need a mobile device powered by iOS 5.0 or newer and Android 4.0 ICS or newer.
To get started with TunnelBear, you will have to sign up for an account. A free account gets you 500MB of web traffic. Spread the word using Twitter and the TunnelBear team will give you an extra 1GB for free.
There are three types of accounts to choose from:
