The development team at Cerulean Studios, the developer behind popular multiprotocol instant messaging app Trillian, has recently announced that it rolled out a new version of the Trillian for iPhone app. Cerulean Studios announced that Trillian for iPhone version 1.5 is now available for download. This update follows in the footsteps of Trillian for iPhone 1.3 which was released back in July.

If you would like to get Trillian for iPhone 1.5, you can grab it from the App Store. But before you do that, perhaps you would like to know what new bits and pieces the app brings to the table.

Here’s what’s new in Trillian for iPhone 1.5:

Emoticons
There’s a new emoticon browser that gives iPhone users access to numerous Trillian emoticons.

Web browser
Version 1.5 of Trillian for iPhone comes with an in-app web browser that allows users to view URLs.

Speed
Version 1.5 has been tweaked to start faster than previous versions. “Loading and resuming Trillian has also been dramatically sped up, especially for those of you with large contact lists,” explained the Cerulean Studios team.

Stability
As the Cerulean Studios team explained, one of its main goals with Trillian for iPhone 1.5 was to improve the app’s stability. So that’s what the team did; it implemented major connection stability enhancements, fixed a large number of bugs (including rendering of URLs), and improved many different internal areas of code.

In related news, you may want to know that Trillian 1.0 for Android has graduated out of Beta. Trillian for Android, which was released as public Beta back in August, has finally shed the Beta tag. The app is now available for download in the Android Market.

Both Trillian for iPhone and Trillian for Android are priced at $4.99, which isn’t that much. As Cerulean Studios said, you can “skip your extra fancy dessert coffee for a day” to get the app.
