Cerulean Studios, the developer behind multiprotocol instant messaging application Trillian, has recently announced that Trillian for Windows 5.0 Beta Build 26 has been released. As you may remember, Trillian 5 was released as a public Beta this August. The same month Cerulean Studios released Build 23 to fix more than 100 bugs. The developer kicked off the month of September by releasing yet another Trillian 5.0 build, mainly Build 24, which fixed several stability and performance issues.

Cerulean Studios rolled out Build 26 yesterday, the 20th of September. According to the developer, “a few important fixes went into this build.” Here are those fixes:

- A Facebook contact cloning bug has been fixed.
- A fix for CPU spin after computer hibernation.
- The new collapsible Trillian button offers an even slimmer contact list that minimalists will definitely enjoy.
- You can once again tweet directly from the contact list

“We are continuing our behind-the-scenes efforts at finalizing the new activity history and will have more to share in the coming builds. It’s very important that we launch this feature in a reasonably stable state so we’re taking the time to work out as many bugs as we can in advance,’ commented Cerulean Studios.

Once Trillian 5.0 for Windows graduates out of Beta, it will offer the following:
- Trillian 5.0’s interface is designed to integrate with the latest version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system, Windows 7.
- Trillian 5.0 comes with a fully synchronized chat history. Your contact list, accounts, and chat history will always be synchronized between your desktops and phones. Please note that this feature is not available in the Beta version of Trillian 5.0 that is currently available for download. Cerulean Studios said the feature “will be unveiled in a future beta build of Trillian 5”.
- Proper support for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Foursquare plug-in.
- Easily switch from the full to the compact user interface (great for when you have to use a small netbook).
- A new black theme.
