Trillian for Mac 1.0 Build 163: New Account Manager, Welcome Wizard

Cerulean Studios, the company behind the popular multiprotocol instant messaging application Trillian, has recently announced that Trillian for Mac 1.0 (which is still carrying the Beta tag, unlike Trillian 1.0 for Android that graduated out of Beta earlier this month) has been updated to Build 163. The interesting thing about Trillian for Mac 1.0 Build 163 is that it comes with “a few important updates” as the Cerulean Studios team put it.

One of these important updates is the addition of a new welcome wizard that allows first-time users to easily register an account from within the application. First-time users can easily configure all of their IM and social accounts during this process.

Providing first-time users with a pleasurable experience is key here. I mean how many of you out there like an application that is difficult to set up, that’s a pain to get started with? I bet none of you like that; and that is why Cerulean Studios worked hard to provide first-time users with an easy means of getting started with Trillian for Mac.

Moving on, and putting the spotlight back on the “few important updates” Build 163 brings to the table, it must be said that this latest release comes with a tweaked account management experience. Actually I don’t have to say it, I’ll let the Cerulean Studios team say it:

“We’ve also changed the way the account management works from within the contact list – you can now click all of your accounts at once to quickly bring up a manager window for easy access to all of your accounts.”

Memory leaks that were plaguing Trillian 1.0 Build 162 have been addressed in Build 163. Not all leaks have been plugged, Cerulean Studios explained. There are still some minor leaks; the biggest, most problematic ones have been dealt with though.
