The Trillian 1.0 application that Cerulean Studios rolled out back in August, has been updated to version 1.1. This is great news for one simple reason – the update brings with it a handful of cool new features, like landscape support and messages box integration.

“Trillian 1.1 is now ready for release and heading to BlackBerry App World! Two of our most popular feature requests, message inbox integration and landscape support, arrive in 1.1. Those of you who purchased Trillian already will receive this update free of charge!” announce the Trillian team yesterday.

As mentioned above, Trillian 1.1 for BlackBerry comes with landscape support and messages inbox integration. Apart from these highly requested features, this latest version of Trillian comes with the following new bits and pieces:
- A new browser
- A new emoticon button
- You can group your contact list by service
- A new option to start Trillian when your BlackBerry boots up.
- New options to “connect all” and to “disconnect all”
- Message windows open faster than ever before.
- BiDi language support has been added.
- Various bugs have been dealt with.

People keeping track of these things will remember that Cerulean Studios rolled out a Beta version of Trillian for BlackBerry to “a small number of testers from diverse background” this May. About a month later, in June, the developer rolled out that Beta version to the general public. Then in August Trillian for BalckBerry finally graduated out of Beta when it was released as version 1.0.

Trillian 1.0 for BlackBerry users were glad to be able to use the app, app that boasted the following functionality:
- Connect to Facebook, Windows Live, Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, and MySpaceIM
- Synchronize with Trillian for Windows, Mac, iPhone, Web and BlackBerry for contact list, avatars, accounts, etc
- Support for many BlackBerry phones, including BlackBerry Bold, Storm, Curve, and Pearl
- Two beautiful themes – black and white – designed to smoothly integrate into the BlackBerry environment
- Handy and thoughtful keyboard shortcuts throughout
- Various notification options – sounds, vibration, LED control, email push, home screen icons
- Contact list sorting, grouping, MetaContacts, privacy, and organization
- Set status, avatar, and display name from within the app
- Message window bubble view, copy/paste, send photo, send buzzes, emoticons
- Supports BIS, BES, WiFi, and direct TCP connections
