The software giant is running the #UltimateUpgrade sweepstakes and it’s giving you the chance to win a trip for 2 to New York where, among other things, you’ll get a tech prize that includes a gaming console, a tablet, and a smart band.

Microsoft is running the #UltimateUpgrade sweepstakes as a way to celebrate the grand opening of its flagship store in NYC. If you win the sweepstakes, you’ll get to go to New York and attend the celebrations. Microsoft will pay for the trip and accommodation, will make sure you have VIP access to the store’s grand opening and grand opening concert, and it will even give you some cool gadgets.

#UltimateUpgrade Sweepstakes – Grand Prize

Microsoft offers 2 grand prizes. To stand a chance of winning one of them, you’ll have to upgrade from Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 to the recently released Windows 10. As a little side note, are you aware that more than 75 million people upgraded to Windows 10 within the first month and that Windows 10 is currently pushing towards 100 million users? But I digress, let’s get back to the topic at hand.
As I was saying, if you want to win, you must upgrade from Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 to Windows 10 and you must do so until the end of the month when the sweepstakes ends. Then you must visit the Upgrade to 10 Sweeps website where you’ll have to complete and submit a registration form. You’ll get 1 entry into the sweepstakes for doing all of that. To earn an extra 2 entries, you must spread the word about the sweepstakes on Twitter and Facebook.
On or around October 14, 2015, the sweepstakes winners will be selected – at random of course, out of all eligible entries.

Grand prize aside, should I upgrade to Windows 10 though?
Well, that’s up to you. I will point out though that there are several annoying issues with Windows 10 (here’s a list). I will also point out that if you don’t like Windows 10, you can always revert to your old operating system. Microsoft gives you one month to make up your mind. You can upgrade to Windows 10, use it for up to a month, and then go back to your old operating system if you find that Windows 10 is not to your liking.
