Logitech recently introduced the new G900 Chaos Spectrum, touting it as the company’s most advanced and best gaming mouse yet. It’s hard to argue with that statement once you see what this professional-grade gaming mouse has to offer.

With that being said, here are the five main features that make the G900 Chaos Spectrum, Logitech's best gaming mouse to date.

1. Professional-grade performance, wired or wireless

With the G900 Chaos Spectrum, you can choose how you want to use the mouse: wired or wireless. If you want to go wired, just plug in the data and charging cable. But according to Logitech, you’re not going to want that, not when the mouse’s wireless performance is brilliant:
  • One-millisecond report rate.
  • Highly optimized 2.4GHz wireless connection.
  • Exclusive clock-tuning technology that significantly reduces power consumption.
  • Play continuously for 32 hours on a single charge (or 24 hours with default lighting).
  • Seamlessly change from wireless to wired when you’re running low on power (the Logitech Gaming Software Battery Assistant will notify you when the battery is running low).
“We talked with eSports pros and none of them love the cable on a wired mouse,” said Ujesh Desai vice president and general manager of gaming at Logitech. “They wish they had the freedom of wireless but the performance and reliability of a wired mouse. So that was the design goal we gave our engineers, to build a wireless gaming mouse that was faster than the competition’s wired gaming mice. G900 delivers on this promise, and we're confident it's the best gaming mouse we've ever built.”

2. State-of-the-art optical gaming sensor

The PMW3366 optical gaming sensor is highly praised for its performance. It precisely interprets every hand movement, it is very responsive, it delivers exceptional tracking accuracy, and more. If you want the best gaming sensor on the market, this is it!

Logitech’s G900 Chaos Spectrum is fitted with the aforementioned PMW3366, the best optical gaming sensor on the market to date.

3. Lightweight and ambidextrous design

Logitech designed this mouse to be lightweight and at the same time offer superior comfort and stability. By optimizing every component, Logitech managed to get the weight down to a mere 107 grams and create a mouse that is a pleasure to use for extended periods of time.

Some people are right-handed, other people are left-handed. Well aware of this fact, Logitech designed the G900 Chaos Spectrum to be ambidextrous. You can place the buttons on the right hand side if you’re a righty or on the left hand side if you’re a lefty.

And speaking about buttons, it’s worth mentioning that the G900 Chaos Spectrum comes with 11 programmable buttons. You can specify what each button does with a bit of help from the Logitech Gaming Software (LGS).

And the main two buttons, the left and right click, feature a mechanical pivot button design that delivers “a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click,” as Logitech said in a press release. “A metal spring tensioning system and exclusive mechanical pivoting hinges are built into the main left and right keys. This system reduces the pre-travel distance between the buttons and switches, while also minimizing the force required to click, enabling faster recovery after each click. The result is a heightened response and a consistently fast, accurate and reliable click performance.”

4. Exclusive clock-tuning technology

As mentioned above, the exclusive clock-tuning technology significantly reduces power consumption. It maximizes battery life so you can play for longer. According to Logitech, a single charge should last for about 32 hours of continuous gameplay – or about 24 hours with default lighting.

The exclusive clock-tuning technology does one more important thing: minimizes degradation commonly caused by temperature, humidity, aging and part-to-part variances.

5. Customizable lights

The G900 Chaos Spectrum features programmable RGB lighting, just like the G502 Proteus Spectrum. By using the Logitech Gaming Software (LGS), you can select from a spectrum of up to 16.8 million colors, adjust the light’s brightness, and even set your lighting to continuously cycle through the color spectrum. And if you have other Logitech G devices, you can sync the RGB lighting.
