The iPhone Can Control Your Car, Introducing Rinspeed iChange
I will admit that the iPhone is a very good piece of technology and I will also admit that the vast majority of apps available for download can address many of your needs – even though you will most likely not use them the following day. But can the iPhone control your car, the vehicle that you use on your day-to-day routine? Rinspeed, automobile design house from Switzerland thinks so and will showcase an electric car controlled by the iPhone at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
The 79th edition of the Geneva Motor Show, which kicks off on the 5th of March and lasts until the 15th, will see the world debut of iChange, the iPhone controlled electric car designed by Swiss automobile visionary Frank M. Rinderknecht. The concept car boasts about the fact that it can adapt to the number of passengers, but we will not focus on that; we will focus on the fact that you can use your iPhone to control it.
“Gone are such mundane things as a key. Its role is filled by an Apple iPhone, which also controls the most important vehicle functions [turn on the lights for example]. The “iChange” is drastically different than ordinary cars in every detail: at the heart of the concept car lays the groundbreaking next-generation Harman/Kardon infotainment system. The system uses an innovative Intel processor technology that guarantees minimized power consumption. The same is true for the Harman/Kardon high-efficiency audio system. This revolutionary technology meets highest demands on sound quality, weighs much less than ordinary systems and at the same time uses only a fraction of energy. This opens the door to a new dimension of energy efficiency,” says Rinspeed.
Now if you have problems getting back to your car once you parked it somewhere, then you should know that the iPhone can help with this also, and here’s how. If on the other hand the concept of using the iPhone as a remote caught your eye, here are some apps that you can use.
