Last week we reported that with 2011 coming to an end, the team behind Microsoft’s Bing decision engine released a list of the most popular searches on Bing this year. So if you want to find out who were the most searched people, the most searched news stories, the most searched sports stars, musicians, consumer electronics, TV Shows, movies, celebrity events, destinations, and check out a list of the most interesting other searches, just check out this article.

Today we are glad to report that the team behind popular micro-blogging and social networking site Twitter did something similar. The team released a list of the hottest topics and hashtags on Twitter this year. The list “charts the keywords that rose the fastest in conversation over the course of the year. This reveals what grabbed our attention most dramatically in 2011, and which events, inventions, changes and ideas made the deepest impression on us,” said the Twitter team.
