As the weekend gets closer and closer, your productivity simply goes out the window. You don’t feel like working and you’re not really willing to go over serious news about serious topics.

So just like the weeks before, I invite you to check out 10 news that will put a smile on your face, make you laugh, and probably even make you say wow or what the f...

1. This bizarre brush asks you to lick your pet cat

Cats groom themselves by, well, using their tongue. They lick themselves clean. So why on earth do you use a regular brush on your pet cat, instead of using one that lets you lick your cat? That’s what you can do with Jason O'Mara’s LICKI Brush – put the brush in your mouth and lick your cat.

2. Google wants pedestrians to stick to its self-driving cars

What happens when you get hit by a car? First there’s the impact with the car, where your body hits the hood. Then there’s the impact with the ground, where your body hits the pavement. Google wants to get rid of this second impact for its self-driving cars.

Google was awarded the patent for something that I can only call "human flypaper." Adhesive keeps the pedestrian on the hood of the car, preventing him from falling to the ground.

Since driving around with a sticky car hood isn’t a very good idea, an eggshell-like coating is placed over the adhesive. When the pedestrian hits the hood, the coating breaks, allowing the adhesive to do its job.

3. Silver pillowcase prevents bacteria growth

Remember last week, when I told you about Silvertech, the underwear that uses silver to fight bacteria and nasty odors? Here’s something similar: Silvon, a pillowcase that uses silver to prevent the growth of unwanted bacteria.

“Powered by pure natural silver, Silvon is an incredibly comfortable and beautifully designed pillowcase that permanently prevents the growth of unwanted bacteria,” says its description on Kickstarter.

4. Tap turns any surface into a keyboard

Put the Tap Strap on your hand, and it will turn any surface into a keyboard. You’ll be able to type by tapping on a table, on a chair, on your body, on anything really. Tap is a fast, accurate, and works with any Bluetooth-enabled device, like your smartphone, tablet, smartTV, or computer.

"Tap brings an entirely new dimension to how we can interface with the digital world," said Ran Poliakine, Tap's co-founder. "Tap's fundamental technology is applicable not only to language, but also to music, gaming and control. It is a new modality that opens up a world of creative possibilities. We are partnering with creative developers and select OEMs to help us unlock its full potential. Our goal is to create an ecosystem in which our partners utilize Tap to deliver new and exciting experiences for our users.

5. Origami robot made of meat that can patch stomach wounds

The thought of having a robot crawl around inside your stomach might send shivers down your spine. It shouldn’t, not in this case. Researchers at MIT, the University of Sheffield, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology have recently presented an origami robot that can unfold itself from a swallowed capsule and patch stomach wounds, remove foreign objects, or deliver medicine.

6. They’re going to make movies based on classic Atari games and Tetris

Video games getting turned into movies (or the other way around) is nothing new and it isn’t particularly surprising. What is surprising though is the choices some studios make when they decide to turn a game into a movie.

According to Deadline, Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films struck a deal with Atari to bring the classic Centipede and Missile Command games to the big screen. Also according to Deadline, the classic Tetris game is going to be turned into a movie as well. Three movies to be exact, because it’s going to be a trilogy.

There is no trailer for the upcoming Tetris movie yet. So here’s an older, fan-made one.

7. The world’s first automated selfie stick

If you hate selfie sticks, you’re probably going to truly despise this one. Created by Thinkmondo, it is an automated selfie stick that extends with the push of a button, has two fans on the side to help you get that wind blowing through your hair effect, and even features two LED soft light panels to help you take great selfies in low light conditions.

Don’t expect this selfie stick to hit the market anytime soon. Thinkmodo created it to promote Lifetime’s UnREAL TV show.

8. Someone dubbed BB-8 with Windows XP sounds

Think BB-8 from The Force Awakens is cute? You might change your mind after watching this.

9. Why can’t girls code? Because boobs (and other ridiculous reasons)

Why can't girls code? Because their boobs get in the way. Because they get all moody when they menstruate. Or simply because their beautiful lashes prevent them from seeing the screen.

Relax, it's a joke, part of a brilliant new campaign from Girls Who Code.

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization working to close the gender gap in the technology and engineering sectors. Its goal is to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in computing fields.

10. Get in shape with BangFit (from Pornhub)

They say that if you make something fun, it won’t seem like a chore. To my mind, that certainly applies to working out and staying fit. What’s fun about running around on a treadmill for example?

That being said, allow me to introduce BangFit, an exercise platform from adult website Pornhub. “It combines the cardio of zumba, the intensity of crossfit, and the flexibility of yoga (mixed with your favorite sport)." And by "sport" I mean "coitus", as Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory might say.
