Nike recently rolled out a FuelBand Android app, even though it said it would not release an Android companion app for the Nike+ FuelBand fitness tracker wristband.

I don’t know what happened and why Nike rolled out the app. I’m just glad that it is out there. You can get the Nike+ FuelBand app for free from the Play Store here.

The Nike+ FuelBand fitness tracker wristband and its companion iOS app have been around for about 2 years now. During all this time, Android users repeatedly asked for a companion app for their mobile operating system. But Nike stated time and time again that it will not release an Android app. But...something happened...and an Android app has indeed been released.

Nike+ FuelBand version 1.0 for Android was rolled out to the Play Store earlier this week – on the 17th of June to be more precise. So if you have a Nike+ FuelBand activity tracker and you want to connect it to your Android smarpthone, go get the app. It is available for free on Google’s Play Store.
