There are several things to report: AVG Anti-Virus 8.0.198 build 1385 was just released, AVG Anti-Virus Free 8.0 now has French language support, and for those of you who are seeking employment, the AVG team is looking for a forum moderator. Also in related news, a school district in the state of Washington has been using AVG security software solutions without a glitch for six years now.

AVG Anti-Virus 8.0.198 build 1385 is the latest update to be released by AVG. This follows the 8.0.0175 version that was released earlier this month, on the 21st of October to be more precise. Users that are running Windows-based operating systems on their machines are very well advised to update and stay safe. After all, AVG protects against all the usual nasties that you can expect to stumble upon while surfing the web: spyware, adware, Trojans, worms, and viruses.

French PC users will be glad to hear that as of this month AVG Free Anti-Virus 8.0 has “learned to speak French”. This was a long time coming, said CEO J.R. Smith, especially since French web surfers have greater chances of accessing malware spreading sites than the average European PC user. A research study conducted by AVG’s Exploit Prevention Labs revealed that the risks to which French users expose themselves in their Internet related activities is 30% greater than the average user from other EU countries.

If you are looking for a part-time job in the IT business, then perhaps a job within AVG will tickle your fancy. AVG has recently announced that it is looking to hire a forum moderator. The benefits are that you can work from your residence, two hours per day. Applicants must be articulate in either French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, or German, must be computer literate and security oriented.

The computer network that the Pasco School District from Washington manages is comprised of more than 3,000 individual work stations and 4 servers which are accessed on a day to day basis by about 12,000 students and more than 1,200 staff members. According to network specialist Kevin Stiles, life has been a breeze (security wise) ever since AVG Network Edition has been implemented six years ago. Since I don’t want this one to seem like a shameless plug-in, I will stop here.
