If you are a fan of classic, old school, arcade, or console games, then you will be glad to know that you can play tons of games directly in your browser, just by visiting the website of the Internet Archive.

The Internet Archive is a non-profit organization founded with the aim of creating an internet library of books, movies, music, software, web pages, and more. Members of the general public, researchers, historians, scholars, and other interested people can easily access historical collections in digital format.

The Internet Archive’s Internet Arcade Library

Astro Blaster, Bionic Command, Street Fighter 2, Battler of Atlantis, Atomic Boy, and many other games ranging through many different genres and styles are featured in the Internet Archive’s Internet Arcade, a web-based library of arcade (coin-operated) video games from the 1970s through to the 1990s.

The Internet Archive’s MS-DOS Games Library

To this day I have fond memories of playing Prehistorik 2 with my brother on my mom’s old 386 PC. The aforementioned Prehistorik 2 and many other games (action, strategy, adventure and other unique genres) are featured on the Internet Archive’s MS-DOS Games library. It must be mentioned here that there’s also an MS-DOS Showcase library that features a hand-picked set of MS-DOS games.

The Internet Archive’s Console Living Room Library

The Internet Archive’s Console Living Room library presents classic games for a variety of console: Atari, Sega, Coleco, Astrocade, and more. I used to have a Sega Genesis console and I remember that every time I had the chance, I would plug it into my parents’ TV and I would play for hours on end – or until my parents made me stop because they wanted to watch TV.

Visit the Internet Archive’s official website and uncover more classic games and software. You’ll also find classic movies, live music concerts, audio books, and lots of other content on the website.
