The Croods: Rovio and DreamWorks To Release a New Game

The Croods is a prehistoric comedy adventure animation that is set for a March 22 release in the US. Based on the movie, Rovio and DreamWorks came up with an exciting new game.

Rovio Entertainment, the developer behind the incredibly popular Angry Birds game, the Bad Piggies spin-off, and the entertaining physics puzzler Amazing Alex, recently announced that it will add a new title to its offering. In partnership with DreamWorks, Rovio will release a new game called “The Croods” – it is based on the animation with the same name.

The Croods – The Movie
This animation movie that features the voice talents of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, and Emma Stone, focused on the world's first modern family, family that lives in a cave, sheltered from danger. When the cave is destroyed, the prehistoric family has no choice but to embark on a journey of a lifetime that will have them discover an amazing world filled with incredible creatures.

The Croods is scheduled for a March 22 release in the US.

The Croods – The Game
Before the movie is rolled out the public, Rovio will release a free iOS and Android game based on The Croods. The Croods for iOS and Android is scheduled for a March 14 release.

The game presents the prehistoric family and introduces a revolutionary tool: the IDEA. Using the idea, the prehistoric family will break out of the Stone Age, explore spectacular landscapes, meet and tame never-before-seen creature, and survive in the wild.



“DreamWorks Animation’s The Croods is filled with wonderful characters and creatures in an incredibly detailed, inventive world -- it was just begging for its very own mobile game!” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio Entertainment. "It's been an incredible experience having our two teams working closely together on extending the story to mobile platforms.”
