It’s December, and you know what that means! In a matter of days, Santa Claus will set off to deliver presents to all the good little boys and girls around the world. A countdown timer that shows the days, hours and minutes until Santa departs is presented on Google’s Santa Tracker. That’s right! Google's Santa Tracker is backonce again!

On December 24th, on Christmas Eve, the Google Santa Tracker website will display Santa’s dashboard. Featuring the latest and greatest in Google Maps technology and sleigh engineering, Santa’s dashboard is the technology that powers his sleigh during his round-the-world journey. One of Santa’s many developer elves shared this technology with Google and Google in turn shares it with the rest of the world.

Speaking about elves, they will unlock a new project or game each day throughout the month of December. Even though they’re quite busy helping Santa at the North Pole, they somehow manage to find the time to present a new daily project or game on Google’s Santa Tracker website.

The Traditions project for example presents various Christmas traditions from around the world. Did you know about this Greek tradition? “In Greece, friendly but troublesome creatures called 'kallikántzari' live most of the year in the center of the earth. But at Christmas, they love to hide in people's houses, frightening people, playing tricks, or devouring Christmas foods. Greeks perform rituals to keep these hobgoblins away.”

Racer is just one of several games that will be rolled out to Google’s Santa Tracker website. There’s a calendar on the website, calendar that shows everything that Google has planned for December 2014.

As in previous years, Google's Santa Tracker is available for multiple platforms.

There’s a Google Santa Tracker website.
There’s a Google Santa Tracker extension for Chrome.
And there’s a Google Santa Tracker app for Android and Chromecast.

If you search for Santa or Santa Claus on Google, you will see a card that promotes the Santa Tracker website.

In related news, Microsoft's IE team once again created NORAD's annual Santa Tracker website.
