The recently released “The Bowling Dead” is one of those apps that you just have to try. And considering that it is offered for free and incredibly fun, I don’t see why you wouldn’t do just that.

Video game publisher Activision has recently released a Slant Six Games game that blends together the terror of having to fight brain sucking zombies with the thrill of doing so with bowling balls. That game is appropriately named “The Bowling Dead” and in essence it is a bowling game with a zombie twist. Awesome, because I love both!

As we’ve seen in countless movies, a zombie will not go down unless you shoot it in the head – there’s no shooting in this game though. In this game you have to bowl to take out the zombies. You are put in control of Jimmy Skidmore, a disenchanted bowler that wants to have fun more than to save the world. In control of Skidmore and his weaponized bowling balls, you get to fight waves and waves of zombies – and a nasty clown.

Choose Campaign Mode and you will get to go through 40+ stages and fight your way through brain sucking zombies. Choose Survival Mode instead and see for how long you can last against the terrifying zombies. No matter which game mode you choose, you are sure to have lots of fun.

And speaking about fun, things wouldn’t be much fun if they stayed the same. They don’t – you can upgrade and customize your character and you can unlock a huge arsenal of fun an unique bowling balls.

The Bowling Dead, a universal app, is available for free on the App Store here.

The Bowling Dead Main Features:
  • 3D + HD Zombie Bowling Action with state-of-the-art environments and characters
  • Over 40 stages of Zombie battles in the Campaign Mode with more to come
  • Unlimited Survival Mode – how long can you last? Beat your own and your friends’ scores!
  • Upgrade and customize your character however you like
  • Unlock a huge arsenal of fun and unique bowling balls used to kill the Zombies
